Unveiling Embedded Risks in Integrated Project Delivery

Qiuwen Ma et al.

Summary: Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) is an innovative procurement approach where the client, designer, and contractor work together under one contract. This study identifies critical risks in IPD projects and examines the impact of previous or future partnerships on risk management. The findings suggest that poor integration quality, inaccurate target costs, and unreasonable cost estimates are the most critical risks in IPD projects. Additionally, future cooperation intent can significantly alleviate certain IPD risks.

Identifying Effective Collaborative Behaviors in Building Information Modeling-Enabled Construction Projects

Guangchong Chen et al.

Summary: This study systematically identified effective collaborative behaviors in BIM-enabled construction projects (BECPs) through interviews with 34 BECPs. The findings revealed that adaptation to customized BIM use, integrated coordination, integrated communication, shared responsibility to reduce conflicts, and flexibility to support the team were effective collaborative behaviors. Additionally, a theoretical model was established to describe how these behaviors combined for effective BIM use.

How Does Relational Governance Affect Knowledge Collaboration in Integrated Project Delivery? A Transactive Memory System Process

Jiajia Cheng et al.

Summary: Integrated project delivery mode (IPD) relies on high-level knowledge collaboration among project parties. This study examines the role of relational norms and trust as governance mechanisms on knowledge collaboration, mediated by the transactive memory system (TMS), and presents the significant influence of TMS in IPD collaboration.

Linking BIM Definition, BIM Capability Maturity, and Integrated Project Delivery in the AECO Industry: The Influences of BIM Diffusion and Moral Hazard

Ting Wang et al.

Summary: This study explores the quantitative relationships between BIM definition, BIM capability maturity, integrated project delivery (IPD), BIM diffusion, and moral hazard. The findings reveal the positive association between BIM technology, process, and policy with BIM capability maturity. Additionally, BIM capability maturity has a positive impact on the realization of IPD, which is moderated by BIM diffusion and moral hazard.

Analytical and Conceptual Perspectives toward Behavioral Elements of Collaborative Delivery Models in Construction Projects

Sina Moradi et al.

Summary: This study addresses the behavioral elements of collaborative project delivery models in construction projects from analytical and conceptual perspectives, filling the knowledge gaps in this area. Through a systematic literature review and thematic analysis, a model is developed, revealing the behavioral elements, interrelationships, and enablers of collaborative delivery models in construction projects.

Evolutionary game and numerical simulation of participants' collaborative behavior in integrated project delivery project

Kai Liu et al.

Summary: This study introduces various variable parameters into a tripartite evolutionary game model based on evolutionary game theory, analyzing behavioral strategies and discussing the stability of system equilibrium. The research also examines the impact of these parameters on the evolutionary games, and presents a dynamic mechanism for collaborative behavior under limited rationality. The study concludes that the key to driving participants towards collaborative behavior lies in the owner's supervision.
