Summary: The changing digital technologies and innovation pose a threat to established business models. The increasing uncertainty in the operating environment drives the need for digital business transformation (DBT) in order to adapt the core business model. This study conducts a longitudinal study on two digital startups in the crowdfunding domain to identify the core attributes driving such transformation. A framework is built to examine how DBT takes place in entrepreneurial firms through information exchange with the environment. This research can assist entrepreneurs and managers in designing and developing reactive business models for market success.

Digital and financial literacy as determinants of digital payments and personal finance

Anna Lo Prete

Summary: This work demonstrates that the use of digital payment tools and platforms is associated with higher digital literacy across countries, regardless of the level of financial literacy. Conversely, more informed personal finance choices are associated with higher financial literacy at all levels of digital literacy. The results of this descriptive analysis suggest that digital and financial literacy should be considered together when assessing the impact of digitalization on individual investors who can access digital financial products and markets in the absence of financial literacy.
