Imbalance multi-label data learning with label specific features

Reshma Rastogi et al.

Summary: Multi-label classification is a class of machine learning problem where each instance can belong to one or more classes simultaneously. Existing approaches, such as binary relevance, have limitations including class imbalance, inconsistency, and lack of consideration for label correlations. This paper proposes a method that addresses these issues through the application of different weights, label-specific feature selection, and consideration of label associations.

Multi-label classification algorithms for composite materials under infrared thermography testing

Muflih Alhammad et al.

Summary: The key idea of this paper is to propose multi-labels classification algorithms for handling benchmark thermal datasets associated with different data characteristics and only one health condition (damaged composite materials). An alternative approach for extracting statistical contents from thermal images is also employed, offering comparable advantages for classifying multi-labelled datasets over more complex methods. The overall accuracy scores of different methods used in this approach show that the Random Forest algorithm outperforms the others. This unique investigation provides a new perspective on inspecting composite materials using Infrared Pulsed Thermography.
