Analytical Solution of Heat Exchange in Typical Electrocaloric Devices

Farrukh Najmi et al.

Summary: This study introduces analytical solutions for thermal conduction in a multilayer structure and applies them to the thermal treatment of materials. It is found that the sum of a series can be calculated within the first N terms, where N is usually a small number. The issues related to the application of these analytical solutions for simulating real electrocaloric devices are discussed.

Enhanced electrocaloric strengths at room temperature in (SrxBa1-x) (Sn0.05Ti0.95)O3 lead-free ceramics

Sheng-Guo Lu et al.

Summary: The electrocaloric effect in lead-free (Ba1-xSrx)(Sn0.05Ti0.95)O-3 (BSSnT) ceramics was studied near room temperature, where the maximum effect occurred near the Curie temperature and slightly shifted towards higher temperatures with increasing electric field. The directly measured ECE was found to be larger than the value calculated using the Maxwell relation.
