Holographic evidence for nonsupersymmetric conformal manifolds

Alfredo Giambrone et al.

Summary: We provide the first holographic evidence for the existence of a nonsupersymmetric conformal manifold resulting from exactly marginal but supersymmetry-breaking deformations. Specifically, we construct a 2-parameter nonsupersymmetric deformation of a supersymmetric AdS nongeometric background in type 1IB string theory. We prove the perturbative stability of the nonsupersymmetric backgrounds and their protection against various nonperturbative instabilities. Additionally, we argue that diffeomorphism symmetry safeguards our solutions against higher-derivative string corrections.

Janus solutions from dyonic ISO(7) maximal gauged supergravity

Parinya Karndumri et al.

Summary: This study presents a new class of supersymmetric Janus solutions in dyonic ISO(7) maximal gauged supergravity that interpolate between AdS(4) vacua and N = 8 SYM phase, serving as conformal interfaces in the dual field theory in three dimensions. Singular Janus solutions that interpolate between N = 8 SYM or AdS(4) vacua and singularities are also discussed, with singularities deemed unphysical in both four- and ten-dimensional frameworks except for the SYM phase on D2-branes.

Flat deformations of type IIB S-folds

Adolfo Guarino et al.

Summary: The paper discusses flat deformations in Type IIB S-fold models, providing a group-theoretical characterization and a 5D interpretation involving so(6)-valued duality twists. It establishes the existence of two flat deformations in the N = 4 and SO(4) symmetric S-folds, causing symmetry breaking down to its U(1)(2) Cartan subgroup. The result is a new two-parameter family of non-supersymmetric S-folds, perturbatively stable at the lower-dimensional supergravity level, serving as the first examples of such backgrounds in Type IIB.

S-folds and holographic RG flows on the D3-brane

Adolfo Guarino et al.

Summary: This work investigates holographic RG flows on the D3-brane for Type IIB S-folds, showing how anisotropic deformations of SYM4 in the UV are connected to S-fold CFT's in the IR with different amounts of supersymmetry and flavour symmetries. Additionally, examples of holographic RG flows between S-fold CFT's are presented, along with a geometric interpretation of axion deformations in terms of monodromies on the internal S-5 when moving around the S-1.

Global properties of the conformal manifold for S-fold backgrounds

Alfredo Giambrone et al.

Summary: We study a one-parameter family of N = 2 anti-de Sitter vacua with U(1)^2 symmetry, corresponding to Type IIB S-fold solutions with internal manifold of topology S^1 x S^5. The modulus has a periodicity of 2π/T in the 10-dimensional geometric interpretation. Enhancements in symmetry occur at specific values of chi, leading to inequivalent Kaluza-Klein spectra.

Marginal deformations and RG flows for type IIB S-folds

Igal Arav et al.

Summary: The study constructs a family of AdS(4)x S(1)x S-5 S-fold solutions exhibiting nontrivial SL(2, Z) monodromy in the S-1 direction, which preserve a certain degree of supersymmetry under specified conditions. These solutions are related to N = 4 S-fold SCFT and N = 2 S-fold scenerios. Additionally, the research shows RG flows across dimensions and explores relationships between AdS(5) duals and various SCFTs.

The holographic conformal manifold of 3d N=2 S-fold SCFTs

Nikolay Bobev et al.

Summary: A two-parameter family of AdS(4) J-fold solutions with N=2 supersymmetry is constructed using non-compact gauging of four-dimensional maximal supergravity, preserving u(1) x u(1) global symmetry. These solutions can be uplifted to type IIB string theory and are holographically dual to a conformal manifold of three-dimensional S-fold SCFTs. The study examines how the operator spectrum of the SCFT depends on exactly marginal couplings using the spectrum of supergravity excitations of the AdS(4) solutions.

A new family of AdS4 S-folds in type IIB string theory

Igal Arav et al.

Summary: In this paper, we construct infinite new classes of AdS(4)× S(1)× S-5 solutions of type IIB string theory with non-trivial SL(2, Z) monodromy along the S-1 direction, which are supersymmetric and dual to N = 1 SCFTs in d = 3. These solutions arise as limiting cases of Janus solutions of d = 4, N = 4 SYM theory, supported by different values of coupling constant on each side of the interface, as well as by fermion and boson mass deformations.
