Soft spin correlations in final-state parton showers

Keith Hamilton et al.

Summary: In this paper, we introduce a simple procedure to account for single-logarithmic spin-correlation effects in parton showers. The procedure is applied in the PanScales family of parton showers and a new non-global spin-sensitive observable is introduced. Comparisons to fixed-order matrix elements validate the approach and the work represents an important step in achieving the PanScales next-to-leading logarithmic accuracy goals.

Effective transverse momentum in multiple jet production at hadron colliders

Luca Buonocore et al.

Summary: We propose a new k(T)(ness) variable to control the singularities of N+1-jet cross section and perform higher-order calculations in Quantum Chromodynamics. This variable performs well in evaluating next-to-leading order corrections for H+jet and Z+2 jet production at the LHC.

Non-global logarithms in hadron collisions at Nc=3

Yoshitaka Hatta et al.

Summary: In this study, the rapidity gap survival probability associated with Higgs decay and Higgs plus dijet production in proton-proton collisions is calculated by resumming non-global logarithms without any approximation to the number of colors. The results show that for dijet production, the probability involves various 'color multipoles', and the factorization of higher multipoles into lower ones as well as the validity of the large-Nc approximation are discussed.

Resummation of Super-Leading Logarithms

Thomas Becher et al.

Summary: Jet cross sections at high-energy colliders show intricate patterns of logarithmically enhanced higher-order corrections, with non-global logs emerging from soft radiation emitted off energetic partons inside jets. While this is a single-log effect at lepton colliders, at hadron colliders, phase factors in the amplitudes lead to double-log corrections starting at four-loop order.

Colour and logarithmic accuracy in final-state parton showers

Keith Hamilton et al.

Summary: This work focuses on correcting the subleading-colour contributions to leading and next-to-leading logarithms (NLL) for a range of observables in final-state showers. Two simple and computationally efficient prescriptions are presented to address the issue, showing correct full colour NLL terms for global observables and multiplicities. Despite remaining subleading colour issues at NLL for non-global observables, one of the schemes reproduces the correct full-colour matrix-element for any number of energy-ordered commensurate-angle pairs of emissions.

Dissecting the collinear structure of quark splitting at NNLL

Mrinal Dasgupta et al.

Summary: This study examines the collinear limit of final-state quark splittings at order alpha(2)(s) and highlights the necessity to consider 1 -> 3 splitting functions at the NNLL level. By performing suitable integrals, the extraction of B-2(q)(z) from the quark form factor coefficient B-2(q) is demonstrated, providing insights into the intensity of collinear radiation from a quark. Additionally, the results yield effective higher-order splitting functions, laying the groundwork for the construction of NNLL parton showers.

Fiducial qT resummation of color-singlet processes at N3LL+NNLO

Thomas Becher et al.

Summary: Our framework provides a q(T) resummation method for arbitrary color-singlet processes at (NLL)-L-3+NNLO accuracy based on a factorization theorem in SCET. The implementation CuTe-MCFM is fully differential and matches large-q(T) fixed-order predictions at relative order alpha s2, allowing for efficient estimation of uncertainties. In addition to various production processes, the framework is also applicable to diboson processes with decays, showing novel results for gamma gamma and Z gamma at (NLL)-L-3+NNLO accuracy.

Drell-Yan qT resummation of fiducial power corrections at N3LL

Markus A. Ebert et al.

Summary: The study shows that linear power corrections are dominant for the fiducial q(T) spectrum and can be predicted and accumulated to the same order as the leading power contribution through factorization. The complete tensor decomposition method provides a rigorous theoretical basis for recoil schemes and accurate angular decomposition for complex cases such as Z/gamma (*) -> ll or W -> l nu.

Jet angularities in Z plus jet production at the LHC

Simone Caletti et al.

Summary: This study focuses on the phenomenological analysis of angularities measured on the highest transverse-momentum jet in LHC events with associate production of a Z boson and jets. Utilizing Monte Carlo parton shower simulations, the impact of next-to-leading order matching and merging procedures is quantitavely assessed. The study ultimately arrives at an all-order expression with next-to-leading logarithmic accuracy resummation, matched to the exact NLO result, providing predictions that account for various factors such as soft emissions and experimental cuts.
