Bootstrapping N=4 super-Yang-Mills on the conformal manifold

Shai M. M. Chester et al.

Summary: We use supersymmetric localization and numerical bootstrap techniques to calculate upper bounds on the low-lying CFT data of N=4 super-Yang-Mills theory as a function of complexified gauge coupling tau. We extract the scaling dimension of the lowest-lying unprotected scalar operator and its OPE coefficient from the stress tensor multiplet four-point function. While our method is applicable to any gauge group G, we focus on G=SU(2) and SU(3) for simplicity. At weak coupling, the upper bounds we find are very close to the corresponding four-loop results. We also provide preliminary evidence that these upper bounds become small islands under reasonable assumptions.

Holographic S-fold theories at one loop

Connor Behan

Summary: A common feature of tree-level holography is that correlators from one theory can generate correlators in another theory with less continuous symmetry. Recently added 4d CFTs to this family were defined using S-folds, showcasing differences at one loop.

OPE coefficients in Argyres-Douglas theories

A. Bissi et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the calculation of physical quantities in certain quantum field theories, specifically the Argyres-Douglas type. Two alternative approaches, localization and conformal bootstrap, are used to tackle this problem. The results show good agreement between the two methods in rank-one cases and the rank-two Argyres-Douglas theories, and the localization results provide bounds on the dimensions of the lightest neutral unprotected operators in CFTs.

AdS Virasoro-Shapiro from dispersive sum rules

Luis F. Alday et al.

Summary: In this study, we investigate the four-point correlator of the stress-energy tensor in N = 4 SYM and analyze it with necessary corrections. By using dispersion relations in Mellin space, we derive a set of sum rules, which further constrain the form of the correlator. These rules can determine the coefficients in the low energy expansion based on the CFT data, especially the data for heavy string operators.

Far beyond the planar limit in strongly-coupled N=4 SYM

Shai M. Chester et al.

Summary: The study focuses on the N = 4 super-Yang-Mills theory placed on a round four-sphere and deformed by a mass parameter while using supersymmetric localization to compute the free energy. A new exact relation was derived between the fourth derivative of the sphere free energy and the stress-tensor multiplet four-point function in the N = 4 SYM theory, which was then utilized along with other constraints to determine various perturbative terms in the large N and large 't Hooft coupling lambda expansion. The leading large-lambda term in the N = 4 SYM correlation function at order 1/N-8 was determined, reaching three orders beyond the planar limit.

Modular invariant holographic correlators for N=4 SYM with general gauge group

Luis F. Alday et al.

Summary: The stress tensor four-point function for N = 4 SYM with gauge group G = SU(N), SO(2N + 1), SO(2N) or USp(2N) at large N was studied. Analytic bootstrap and constraints from localization were used to compute corrections to the leading supergravity approximation of the correlator. It was found that in the large N and finite complexified coupling tau - limit, the localization constraint for each G can be expressed in terms of modular invariant Eisenstein series. Additionally, it was observed that the flat space limit of the correlator precisely matches the type IIB S-matrix, and the numerical bootstrap bounds at large N were not saturated, suggesting that no physical theory saturates these bounds.

Bootstrapping mixed correlators in N=4 super Yang-Mills

Agnese Bissi et al.

Summary: In this study, a numerical bootstrap analysis of the mixed correlator system in N = 4 Super Yang-Mills theory reveals new bounds on operator dimensions and OPE coefficients. The tension between large N supergravity predictions and numerical finite N results is found to exist around N similar to 100, prompting discussions on potential solutions. Additionally, evidence of a two dimensional conformal manifold in the OPE coefficient of the lightest scalar singlet is observed.

New modular invariants in N=4 Super-Yang-Mills theory

Shai M. Chester et al.

Summary: The study focuses on the modular invariants in the four-point functions of stress tensor multiplet operators in the N = 4 SU(N) super-Yang-Mills theory, revealing their forms at different orders in the 1/N expansion and their implications for the low-energy expansion in superstring theory and the analogous expansion in AdS(5) x S-5. The results provide evidence that these modular invariants are related to non-holomorphic Eisenstein series and generalized Eisenstein series at different orders in 1/N, shedding light on the structure of the expansions in higher-dimensional spaces.

Gluon scattering in AdS from CFT

Luis F. Alday et al.

Summary: This study systematically investigates holographic correlators in a variety of SCFTs with non-maximal superconformal symmetry. By considering current multiplets and their generalizations with higher weights, the correspondence between massless and massive super gluons in the bulk is explored. At leading order, tree-level gluon scattering amplitudes in AdS are found to be fixed by symmetries and consistency conditions in all the theories studied, revealing interesting emergent structures such as dimensional reductions, hidden conformal symmetry, and an AdS version of the color-kinematic duality.

Dynamical spin chains in 4D N=2 SCFTs

Elli Pomoni et al.

Summary: This paper explores spin chains capturing the spectral problem of 4d N = 2 SCFTs in the planar limit, uncovering a quasi-Hopf symmetry algebra in the quantum plane limit. The dynamical nature of these chains is demonstrated, with the SU(3) scalar sector mapped to a dynamic 15-vertex model. The study also reveals interesting phenomena when examining different sub-sectors of the scalar sector.
