ATTENUATION COEFFICIENT MEASUREMENT USING A HIGH-FREQUENCY (2-9 MHZ) CONVEX TRANSDUCER FOR CHILDREN INCLUDING FATTY LIVER

Haesung Yoon et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the feasibility and diagnostic ability of an ultrasound-guided attenuation parameter (UGAP) using a high-frequency convex transducer in children. The results showed that this method had a high measurement success rate and low measurement variability in small children, and it had good diagnostic performance for pediatric fatty liver.

Liver cirrhosis prediction for patients with Wilson disease based on machine learning: a case-control study from southwest China

Ke Chen et al.

Summary: A predictive model for the occurrence of liver cirrhosis in Wilson disease (WD), constructed using machine learning, demonstrated high accuracy. Platelet large cell count (P-LCC), red cell distribution width CV (RDW-CV), serum ceruloplasmin, age at diagnosis, and mean corpuscular volume (MCV) were identified as the top five important predictors.

Summary: CPA is correlated with Ishak score, while transient elastography results are highly correlated with SWE measurements. However, transient elastography or SWE did not show significant correlation with Ishak score or CPA.

Assessment of native liver fibrosis using ultrasound elastography and serological fibrosis indices in children with biliary atresia after the Kasai procedure

Jisun Hwang et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the diagnostic accuracy of two different ultrasound elastography techniques and two serum markers in detecting native liver fibrosis in children with biliary atresia. The results showed that these methods had good to excellent diagnostic accuracy for different clinical categories, and the combined use of serum markers and ultrasound elastography yielded more accurate diagnoses compared to using serum markers alone.

Attenuation coefficient (ATT) measurement for liver fat quantification in chronic liver disease

Nobuharu Tamaki et al.

Summary: ATT measurement is a noninvasive and quantitative method for liver fat measurement, with high accuracy associated with histological steatosis grade and high interobserver reproducibility. It can measure the exact location of the region of interest on a B-mode image and is suitable for point-of-care and screening applications.

How does liver steatosis affect diagnostic performance of 2D-SWE.SSI: assessment from aspects of steatosis degree and pathological types

Zeping Huang et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the impact of steatosis on 2D-SWE.SSI in CHB patients. It showed that patients with moderate to severe steatosis had higher LSM values in >= F2 stages and lower accuracy in F0-1 stages. Patients with panacinar steatosis demonstrated the best diagnostic performance overall.
