Effect of Ca2+ions on naphthalene adsorption/desorption onto calcium oxide nanoparticle: Adsorption isotherm, kinetics and regeneration studies

J. Aravind Kumar et al.

Summary: The study evaluated the adsorptive nature of calcium oxide nanoparticles in an aqueous sample of naphthalene in the presence of Ca2+ ions, showing enhanced regeneration efficiency with the aid of calcium chloride. The positive influence of adding Ca2+ ions into the naphthalene solution for rapid adsorption was elucidated, indicating a probable increase in sorption capacity at lower concentrations.

Kinetics and regression analysis of phenanthrene adsorption on the nanocomposite of CaO and activated carbon: Characterization, regeneration, and mechanistic approach

J. Aravind Kumar et al.

Summary: In this study, a CaO@AC nanocomposite was synthesized using Basil leaf extract as a promoter for the removal of phenanthrene from aqueous solutions. The nanocomposite showed good adsorption performance, and was demonstrated to be a low-cost, recyclable, and eco-friendly adsorbent for removing phenanthrene from wastewater.
