A Comprehensive Evaluation of Gridded L-, C-, and X-Band Microwave Soil Moisture Product over the CZO in the Central Ganga Plains, India

Summary: This paper evaluates four passive microwave soil moisture (SM) products using in-situ observations in a critical agricultural area in the Central Ganga basin, India. The results show that SMAP-L3 has superior overall performance, while the X-band product performs relatively poorly. Seasonal analysis indicates higher correlation for all satellite SM products during the monsoon season.
