Hybrid Fuzzy AHP and Fuzzy TOPSIS Decision Model for Aquaculture Species Selection

T. Padma et al.

Summary: Global demand for fish products continues to increase, while the supply of ocean fisheries is decreasing. Aquaculture bridges this gap by selectively breeding fish species. This study provides a decision support method for selecting the optimal fish species based on comprehensive evaluation criteria and analyzing various risk factors. The method utilizes fuzzy analytic hierarchy processing to determine weight scores and applies fuzzy technique for order preference by similarity to the ideal solution to identify the best species. A case study validates the effectiveness of the proposed model. Overall, this research greatly aids aquaculture farmers in identifying the optimal fish species.

Applying benefits and avoiding pitfalls of 3D computational modeling-based machine learning prediction for exploration targeting: Lessons from two mines in the Tongling-Anqing district, eastern China

Liangming Liu et al.

Summary: This paper discusses the application of the 3D computational modeling-based machine learning prediction in mineral exploration. It presents case studies in the Fenghuangshan and Anqing mines and highlights the benefits and pitfalls of this methodology. The 3D geological models and dynamic simulations help in predicting the location and potential of orebodies. However, different ML models may produce inconsistent predictions, and it is important to choose the right algorithm and data and integrate field geology-based investigation and feedback to ensure accurate decision-making and timely updates.

Summary: This study aims to detect the distribution of gold and copper mineralization stages in the Gouzal-Bolagh deposit in northwestern Iran using zonality index and S-A multifractal modeling based on geological and surface lithogeochemical data. The results indicate the presence of three mineralization stages (Pre-, main, and post-mineralization) with two sub-stages in the main stage (A: Quartz vein and veinlet sulfidation, B: Quartz sulfide brecciation). The study shows major occurrences of gold and copper mineralization in the sulfidation and brecciation sub-stages.
