The Application of Ferrocene Derivative and CeO-ZnO Nanocomposite-Modified Carbon Paste Electrode for Simultaneous Detection of Penicillamine and Tryptophan

Parisa Baghbanpoor et al.

Summary: The electrocatalytic performance of a carbon paste electrode modified with a ferrocene-derivative, CeO-ZnO nanocomposite, and an ionic liquid was investigated for simultaneous detection of penicillamine and tryptophan. The results showed that the oxidation of penicillamine on the modified electrode surface occurred at a less positive potential compared to the unmodified electrode. The modified electrode exhibited high selectivity and satisfactory reproducibility, indicating its potential for analytical applications.

Simultaneous electrochemical recognition of tryptophan and penicillamine enantiomers based on MOF-modified ?-CD

Ying Hou et al.

Summary: Chiral recognition plays a significant role in chemical asymmetric synthesis and biological pharmaceutical research. In this study, an electrochemical chiral sensor was developed with two types of chiral sites, which allowed the simultaneous recognition of tryptophan and penicillamine enantiomers. The sensor exhibited a wide linear range, low detection limits, high repeatability, and stability.

Electrocatalytic oxidation of ascorbic acid in the basic medium over electrochemically functionalized glassy carbon surface

Prottasha Kairy et al.

Summary: In this study, a pristine glassy carbon electrode (GCE) was electrochemically activated and used for efficient oxidation of ascorbic acid (AA). The GCE surface was characterized before and after functionalization using electrochemical and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The oxidized GCE exhibited better electrochemical performance in an alkaline medium and followed 1st order and diffusion-controlled kinetics. The proposed oxidized GCE shows potential for use as an anode in AA fuel cells.

Molecularly imprinted hornlike polymer@electrochemically reduced graphene oxide electrode for the highly selective determination of an antiemetic drug

Deivasigamani Ranjith Kumar et al.

Summary: A molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) was prepared using the electrochemical method for the detection of the bioactive molecule domperidone (DP). By immobilizing MIP on the electrochemically reduced graphene oxide (ERGO) surface, efficient detection of DP with excellent selectivity and stability was achieved in experiments.

Reduced Graphene Oxide and Polyaniline Nanofibers Nanocomposite for the Development of an Amperometric Glucose Biosensor

Anton Popov et al.

Summary: A novel thermal reduction protocol was used to synthesize reduced graphene oxide, which was then combined with conducting polymers to develop an amperometric glucose biosensor with a wide linear range and low limit of detection. The biosensor showed good selectivity, reproducibility, and stability, making it suitable for glucose determination in human serum. The PANI nanostructure and rGO dispersion showed promise for the construction of electrochemical glucose biosensors.

Colorimetric determination of D-penicillamine based on the peroxidase mimetic activity of hierarchical hollow MoS2 nanotubes

Mohammad Nazifi et al.

Summary: A colorimetric assay for detecting D-penicillamine was designed using HH-MoS2 as a catalyst, which enhanced the sensitivity of the sensor. The sensor showed good linearity between absorbance ratio and D-PA concentration, with a detection limit of 0.63 μg mL(-1). This method was successfully applied to determine D-PA content in pharmaceutical formulations.

Homochiral fluorescence responsive molecularly imprinted polymer: Highly chiral enantiomer resolution and quantitative detection of L-penicillamine

Yan Zhang et al.

Summary: In this study, homochiral fluorescence nano molecularly imprinted polymers with dual affinity were successfully synthesized for the specific separation and detection of L-penicillamine. The homochiral affinity of D-galactose in D-MIP significantly enhanced the selective adsorption of L-PA, resulting in high selectivity factor and enantiomeric excess values.

D-Penicillamine: The State of the Art in Humans and in Dogs from a Pharmacological and Regulatory Perspective

Michela Pugliese et al.

Summary: Chelant agents, particularly D-penicillamine, are commonly used in both human and veterinary medicine for treating copper-associated hepatitis. Despite lacking approval from regulatory authorities, D-penicillamine has been used in dogs since the 1970s and prescribed legally by veterinarians. This study aims to address the pharmacological features, the clinical scenario leading to increased interest in D-penicillamine, and its use in veterinary medicine from a regulatory perspective.

Polydiphenylamine as a promising high-energy cathode material for dual-ion batteries

Filipp A. Obrezkov et al.

Summary: One major drawback of organic cathode materials is their poor electronic conductivity, leading to low loading of active materials. In this study, non-doped PDPA showed high intrinsic conductivity, allowing for a loading of up to 80% and significantly reducing ballast weight to 20%, bringing organic materials closer to state-of-the-art inorganic cathodes' performance.
