On the Influence of Solvent and Ultrasonic Treatment on Properties of Cast Nafion® Membranes

E. Yu Safronova et al.

Summary: The nature of the solvent significantly affects the properties of Nafion membranes. Nafion membranes obtained from water dispersion have good water uptake and proton conductivity but poor mechanical properties and stability. Ultrasonic treatment in nonpolar solvents improves the conductivity and reduces the activation energy of the membranes.

Progress in hybrid composite Nafion®-based membranes for proton exchange fuel cell application

Y. Prykhodko et al.

Summary: Over 50% of energy is currently produced by burning non-renewable fossil fuels, leading to the release of greenhouse gases and environmental pollution. As a result, research on renewable energy sources, storage, and energy transformation devices has become increasingly important in recent years. Fuel cells, particularly proton exchange membrane fuel cells, are considered a promising energy device with ongoing developments in membrane technology.

Nanocomposite Cathode Catalysts Containing Platinum Deposited on Carbon Nanotubes Modified by O, N, and P Atoms

Vera Bogdanovskaya et al.

Summary: The research investigated the effects of O, N, and P atom modifications on carbon nanotubes and their resulting impact on the performance of platinum catalysts. The modified Pt/CNT catalysts showed improved electrochemical properties and catalytic activity, particularly in the ORR in alkaline electrolytes. The Pt/CNTHNO3+N and Pt/CNTHNO3+NP catalysts were identified as the most promising candidates for cathode materials in alkaline media.
