Strong adsorption properties and mechanism of action with regard to tetracycline adsorption of double-network polyvinyl alcohol-copper alginate gel beads

Quan Liao et al.

Summary: Glutaraldehyde was used as a hydrophobic modifier to crosslink polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), while copper ions were immobilized by sodium alginate (SA) in this study. The resulting PVA-CA gel beads demonstrated high adsorption capacity for tetracycline (TC) in aqueous solutions, with a maximum adsorption capacity of 231.431 mg/g under optimal conditions. The adsorption process followed pseudo-second-order kinetic and Langmuir isothermal models, and was found to be spontaneous and endothermic. Additionally, cation bonding bridge reactions were identified as the main driving force behind the adsorption mechanism.

Adsorption mechanism for tetracycline onto magnetic Fe3O4 nanoparticles: Adsorption isotherm and dynamic behavior, location of adsorption sites and interaction bonds

Wangjian Zhai et al.

Summary: Fe3O4 nanoparticles were prepared and used as a magnetic adsorbent to remove tetracycline from neutral aqueous solution with high efficiency. The adsorption process followed pseudo-second-order kinetics and the Langmuir isotherm model described the equilibrium data well. Hydrogen bonds formed between Fe3O4 and TC play a key role in the adsorption mechanism.

Adsorption of tetracycline using CuCoFe2O4@Chitosan as a new and green magnetic nanohybrid adsorbent from aqueous solutions: Isotherm, kinetic and thermodynamic study

Alireza Nasiri et al.

Summary: A powerful and magnetically separable nano-adsorbent CuCoFe2O4@Chitosan was successfully synthesized using a new microwave-assisted method. The magnetic nanohybrid adsorbent was characterized and its adsorption process for Tetracycline (TC) was investigated. The results showed that the TC adsorption process on the synthesized magnetic nanocomposite followed the Freundlich isotherm model and pseudo-second-order kinetic. Thermodynamic analyses revealed that the adsorption process was spontaneous, favorable, and exothermic. The nano-adsorbent exhibited good magnetic properties for easy separation and maintained high removal efficiency after multiple adsorption-desorption cycles.

Gold-selenide quantum dots supported onto cesium ferrite nanocomposites for the efficient degradation of rhodamine B

Fares T. Alshorifi et al.

Summary: In this study, gold-selenide quantum dots (AuSe QDs) with different weight percentages were successfully synthesized and decorated on cesium ferrite nanocomposite (Cs2Fe2O4 NC). The results showed that the AuSe QDs were uniformly distributed on the Cs2Fe2O4 NC surface with small particle sizes. The photocatalytic degradation of rhodamine B (RhB) dye was effectively enhanced by the 5.0 wt.% AuSe QDs/Cs2Fe2O4 NC photocatalyst, indicating its superior photocatalytic activity.
