Sound absorption and thermal insulation characteristics of fabrics made of pure and crossbred sheep waste wool

Zahra Mohammadi Ghermezgoli et al.

Summary: The study showed that crossbreeding improved fiber fineness and subsequently enhanced the sound absorption performance of woolen fabrics. Fabrics made from waste wool demonstrated better thermal insulation effects, and were found to have comparable acoustic and thermal properties to traditional mineral/wool and glass fiber materials. Waste wool was highlighted as an environmentally friendly insulation material that is also cost-effective, biodegradable, and readily available.

Summary: This study investigates the prediction of sound absorption coefficient in diffuse field conditions, proposing numerical models based on porous media and comparing them with analytical equations and experimental data. The influence of panel size on sound absorption coefficient in diffuse field conditions is studied.
