Synthesis and Evaluation of Thermoresponsive Renewable Lipid-Based Block Copolymers for Drug Delivery

Huiqi Wang et al.

Summary: In this study, block copolymer micelles composed of renewable fatty-acid-based hydrophobic block and thermoresponsive hydrophilic block were synthesized and characterized for controlled drug delivery. The self-assembly of block copolymers with variable hydrophobic block length formed spherical nanoparticles with low critical micelle concentration in aqueous media. The in vitro drug release tests showed temperature-triggered response and accelerated drug release at 37 degrees C.

Supramolecularly cross-linked nanoassemblies of self-immolative polyurethane from recycled plastic waste: high encapsulation stability and the triggered release of guest molecules

Subrata Santra et al.

Summary: The synthesis of a self-immolative polymer from recycled plastic waste has led to the development of a stable micellar nanostructure that efficiently encapsulates hydrophobic guest molecules. The nanoassembly demonstrates properties of a nanocontainer through hydrophobic interactions as well as supramolecular cross-linking in the core. The controlled release of guest molecules in a redox environment and the regulated charge modulation of the nanoassembly make it a promising candidate for targeted drug delivery.

Preparation of silver-nanoparticle-loaded C60-ethylenediamine adduct microparticles and their application to photoelectric conversion

Ken-ichi Matsuoka et al.

Summary: This study introduces new suprastructure products composed of C-60-ethylenediamine microparticles and silver nanoparticles, loaded onto surfaces of microparticles through electrostatic adsorption. These products can be deposited onto indium tin oxide electrodes by electrostatic deposition, generating cathodic photocurrents in the presence of ascorbic acid and oxygen. The photocurrent generation suggests a combination of silver-nanoparticle-mediated electron transfer in the cathodic direction and plasmon-induced charge separation in the anodic direction.
