Subclinical leaflet thrombosis (LT) can occur after surgical and transcatheter aortic valve replacement, and computed tomography (CT) has become a reliable imaging modality for diagnosing this condition. However, the experience in utilizing CT imaging for subclinical LT is limited but growing. This review emphasizes a systematic approach to acquiring and analyzing CT imaging for subclinical LT, highlighting the clinical consequences of subclinical LT and the implications for anti-thrombotic treatment after diagnosis.
Subclinical leaflet thrombosis (LT) may occur following surgical and transcatheter aortic valve replacement. Computed tomography (CT) has become an established imaging modality to diagnose subclinical LT following bioprosthetic aortic valve replacement. Even so, there is a limited (but growing) experience in utilizing CT im-aging for this indication. This review emphasizes a systematic approach to acquiring and analysing CT imaging for subclinical LT, highlighting evidence surrounding clinical sequelae of subclinical LT and anti-thrombotic impli-cations following diagnosis.
