Impacts of PBL schemes on PM2.5 simulation and their responses to aerosolradiation feedback in GRAPES_CUACE model during severe haze episodes in Jing-Jin-Ji, China

Summary: This study compared the impacts of three planetary boundary layer (PBL) schemes on PM2.5 simulations using the GRAPES_CUACE model. The experiments found that the three PBL schemes showed differences in simulating surface PM2.5 under different weather conditions, and online computing of aerosol-radiation feedback (ARF) significantly improved the underestimation of PM2.5.

Development of WRF/CUACE v1.0 model and its preliminary application in simulating air quality in China

Summary: The study showed that the WRF/CUACE v1.0 model performed well in simulating PM2.5, O-3, and NO2 concentrations in eastern China in different seasons. However, it faced challenges in accurately reproducing air pollutant variations over regions with deep basin terrains, such as SCB. The introduction of heterogeneous chemical reactions into the CUACE model substantially improved the simulations of sulfate and nitrate concentrations in certain regions.
