Does ground-reaction force influence post-impact ball speed in the tennis forehand groundstroke?

Raku Shimokawa et al.

Summary: This study investigates the influence of ground-reaction force (GRF) on tennis forehand ball speed and identifies the most influential component. The peak anterior-posterior force was found to be the most influential force affecting ball speed.

Within-Session Sequence of the Tennis Serve Training in Youth Elite Players

Jaime Fernandez-Fernandez et al.

Summary: In youth tennis players, it is more effective to conduct serve training before regular tennis training sessions. Performing serve exercises after training may lead to decreased serve performance, shoulder strength, and range of motion, potentially increasing the risk of injury.

Anthropometric Characterization and Physical Performance by Age and Biological Maturation in Young Tennis Players

Pablo Luna-Villouta et al.

Summary: The study aimed to analyze anthropometric and physical performance variables in relation to chronological age and biological maturity in young Chilean tennis players. The results showed that anthropometric variables had a stronger relationship with biological age, while physical performance variables had a low association with both biological and chronological age.

The effects of muscle fatigue on scapulothoracic joint position sense and neuromuscular performance

Guo-Fong Luo et al.

Summary: This study found that scapular muscle fatigue did not affect joint position sense significantly, but did increase activation of the serratus anterior and lead to a more anteriorly tilted, protracted, and laterally rotated scapula during scaption. Further research is needed to determine if these fatigue-related changes are linked to the development of shoulder problems.
