Retrograde Intrarenal Surgery Is a Safe Procedure in Severe Obese Patients: Is It Reality or Prediction? A Propensity Score-Matching Analysis from RIRSearch Study Group

Summary: This study aimed to assess the risk of complications in severely obese patients during and after retrograde intrarenal surgery (RIRS). The results showed that patients with a body mass index (BMI) greater than or equal to 35 had higher postoperative complication rates and longer operation times. Therefore, these risks should be considered when performing RIRS in severely obese patients.

A quick stone component analysis matters in postoperative fever: a propensity score matching study of 1493 retrograde intrarenal surgery

Summary: Infection stones were closely associated with postoperative fever following RIRS, along with female gender, preoperative positive urine test, and postoperative neutrophil ratio > 75%. Quick stone component analysis during RIRS could help prevent infectious complications, and early/longer antimicrobial therapy was recommended for patients with infection stones.
