Genetic diversity and population structure of Plasmodium falciparum in Nigeria: insights from microsatellite loci analysis

Fehintola V. Ajogbasile et al.

Summary: The study found high levels of genetic diversity and low population structuring among parasite populations circulating in Nigeria. Higher resolution methods may be able to capture more specific genetic signatures. These results can be used as a baseline for formulating appropriate therapeutic and control strategies in Nigeria.
