Microwave-Assisted Green Synthesis of Carbon Quantum Dots Derived from Calotropis Gigantea as a Fluorescent Probe for Bioimaging

Neetu Sharma et al.

Summary: This work demonstrates an eco-friendly, cost-effective, and convenient approach for synthesizing biocompatible fluorescent carbon quantum dots (CQDs) from the leaf extract of Calotropis gigantea. The as-synthesized CQDs exhibit high fluorescence quantum yields and suitable size distribution, making them promising probes for optical and bio-imaging.

Microwave-assisted hydrothermal synthesis of copper selenides (Cu2-x Se) thin films for quantum dots-sensitized solar cells

Baomei Wang et al.

Summary: In this study, copper selenide thin films were successfully grown on FTO conductive glass substrates using a microwave-assisted hydrothermal method. The stoichiometry and morphology of the synthesized films were systematically investigated, and the electrochemical catalytic performance of the copper selenide was evaluated using liquid-junction quantum dots-sensitized solar cells. The results showed a high power conversion efficiency for the synthesized copper selenide.

High-Throughput Time-Resolved Photoluminescence Study of Composition- and Size-Selected Aqueous Ag-In-S Quantum Dots

Oleksandr Stroyuk et al.

Summary: The study found that the photophysical properties of MS and ZAIS quantum dots are influenced by the size and composition of the QDs. Nonradiative recombination rate increases steeply for smaller QDs, indicating that interfacial electron transfer is a major contributor.

Spontaneous alloying of ultrasmall non-stoichiometric Ag-In-S and Cu-In-S quantum dots in aqueous colloidal solutions

Oleksandr Stroyuk et al.

Summary: The study observed that spontaneous alloying of non-stoichiometric aqueous Ag-In-S (AIS) and Cu-In-S (CIS) quantum dots (QDs) stabilized by surface glutathione (GSH) complexes led to the phenomenon of band bowing characteristic for solid-solution Cu(Ag)-In-S (CAIS) QDs. The alloying process, even occurring at room temperature, can be accelerated by thermal treatment and is assumed to be driven by an equilibrium between QDs and metal-GSH complexes. This alloying effect is expected to be general for different In-based ternary chalcogenides.
