The tribological properties of multilayer hybrid PTFE/Nomex fabric/phenolic resin composite with two fabric structure under water lubrication

Ying Liu et al.

Summary: The study found that two PTFE/Nomex hybrid fabric structures with different weaving methods exhibited significantly different friction coefficients and wear amounts under various working conditions. The fabric structure influences these properties by affecting surface topography and bonding force between layers.

Tribological behavior of PTFE/Kevlar fabric under different contact stresses

Deqiang Tan et al.

Summary: The tribological behavior of PTFE/Kevlar fabric was studied under different contact stress loads, showing the best performance at a maximum contact stress of 84 MPa (2 N). As the load increased, the friction behavior between the fabric and GCr15 steel included continuous production, peeling, and regeneration of the PTFE transfer film. The wear mechanism of the fabric consisted of fatigue wear, abrasive wear, and some oxidative wear.
