New, epitaxial approach to SERS platform preparation - InP nanowires coated by an Au layer as a new, highly active, and stable SERS platform

Jan Krajczewski et al.

Summary: In this study, a highly ordered InP nanowire surface coated with an Au layer was described as a highly efficient and stable SERS platform. The SERS measurements showed high enhancement factors and good repeatability for the InP@Au SERS platforms.

Ordered zirconium dioxide nanotubes covered with an evaporated gold layer as reversible, chemically inert and very efficient substrates for surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) measurement

Jan Krajczewski et al.

Summary: In this contribution, the formation of SERS substrates by deposition of a gold layer on ordered ZrO2 nanotubes is described. The influence of various experimental parameters on the structure of the formed composites and the achievable SERS enhancement factor is analyzed. The results show that gold-covered ZrO2 nanotubes exhibit good reversibility and stability, and are more stable in strongly acidic media.

Nanoporous WO3 grown on a 3D tungsten mesh by electrochemical anodization for enhanced photoelectrocatalytic degradation of tetracycline in a continuous flow reactor

Alysson Stefan Martins et al.

Summary: The integration of photocatalysis and electrochemical degradation in a continuous flow reactor with a WO3/W mesh as photo-electrode led to a 90% removal of tetracycline in 60 minutes, almost 3 times higher than photocatalysis alone. This scalable approach offers valuable insights for practical issues in water treatment such as costs and efficiency.

Plasmonic Spherical Nanoparticles Coupled with Titania Nanotube Arrays Prepared by Anodization as Substrates for Surface-Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy Applications: A Review

Jorge Jimenez-Cisneros et al.

Summary: The study focuses on utilizing TiO2 NTs as a solid support for building SERS substrate nanoplatforms to achieve low-cost, reproducibility, high sensibility, and recyclability. TiO2 NTs are easily prepared, able to support metal nanoparticles of different sizes promoting high enhancement factors and reproducibility, and possess self-cleaning property for recyclability. Various methodological strategies have been discussed for achieving high performance SERS substrates based on TiO2 NTs.
