Fast and simple fabrication of reduced graphene oxide-zinc tungstate nanocomposite with enhanced photoresponse properties as a highly efficient indirect sunlight driven photocatalyst and antibacterial agent

Awad I. Ahmed et al.

Summary: In this study, reduced graphene oxide/ZnWO4 (GZW) nanocomposites were fabricated using a facile coprecipitating method to enhance electron-hole separation under indirect sunlight irradiation. The physicochemical properties of different % GZW were characterized and it was found that the addition of rGO improved the efficiency of dye degradation under visible light irradiation. The GZW also exhibited higher photocurrent response and antibacterial activity compared to ZnWO4.

Reusable iron magnetic catalyst for organic pollutant removal by Adsorption, Fenton and Photo Fenton process

Marcela G. Tavares et al.

Summary: Magnetic iron oxide catalysts were synthesized and characterized, and their catalytic capacity was evaluated in the degradation of Reactive Blue 19. The synthetic method influenced the efficiency of the catalyst, with the catalyst obtained by coprecipitation showing better performance. UV radiation enhanced the efficiency, particularly for the catalyst obtained hydrothermally. The catalysts could be reused for multiple cycles without significant reduction in efficiency.

Nanoscale magnetite: New synthesis approach, structure and properties

L. Yu Novoselova

Summary: In this study, Nanoscale magnetite (Fe3O4) was successfully synthesized from water deironing sludge using a novel sharp high-temperature dehydration (SHTDH) approach. Various analyses confirmed the structure and properties of the synthesized NM, and it was concluded that SHTDH is a convenient, time-effective, and environmentally friendly synthesis approach.
