Facile Synthesis of Two Dimensional (2D) V2O5 Nanosheets Film towards Photodetectors

Influence of zirconium ions on the key characteristics of V2O5 nanorods and current-voltage features of the n-ZrxV2O5/p-Si photodetector

Summary: This study reports the microstructural, morphological, optical, and photoresponse characteristics of pure and zirconium-doped V2O5 nanorods synthesized via the wet precipitation method. Results show that Zr doping can facilitate the generation of V5+ and oxygen vacancy, leading to a decrease in the optical bandgap, and the prepared photodetector exhibits good photoconducting behavior. The growth mechanism, microstructural analysis, and SEM images provide insights into the effects of Zr doping on V2O5 properties.

Facile preparation of functionalized and oxygen-deficient V2O5 nanosheets electrode as a versatile platform for biomimetic- and photoelectro-catalysis

Summary: In this study, a facile and scalable method for preparing formamide-functionalized and oxygen-deficient V2O5 nanosheets modified electrodes (FTO|exf-V2O5) with promising peroxidase-like and photoelectrocatalytic activity was presented. The FTO|exf-V2O5 was prepared by directly exfoliating V(2)O(5) sub-micron plates modified electrodes (FTO|micro-V2O5) using formamide as the exfoliation agent. The formamide molecules served as active sites for the reduction of noble metal, enabling the recovery of noble metals and further functionalization and electrocatalytic oxidation of V2O5. Compared with FTO|micro-V2O5, FTO|exf-V(2)O(5) exhibited significantly higher oxygen vacancy content and remarkably enhanced peroxidase activity, as well as improved charge-transport kinetics and interfacial charge-transfer, resulting in enhanced photoelectrocatalytic oxidation activity towards water and methanol. This work opens up new possibilities for the preparation of exfoliated 2-D materials for biomimetic catalysis and energy conversion.

MXene-contact enhanced broadband photodetection in centimeter level GeS films

Summary: This study fabricated high-performance photodetectors with ultra-wide spectral response using amorphous germanium sulfide (a-GeS) films and Ti3C2T(x) transparent electrodes as contacts. Photodetectors based on MXene contacts exhibited larger photocurrent compared to those with Au contacts. The as-prepared photodetectors showed high photo-to-dark current ratio, response speed, and photoresponsivity, making them suitable for ultra-wide spectral response optoelectronic devices.

Electrophoretic deposition of MoS2 nanosheets for photoelectrochemical type photodetector

Summary: This study demonstrated the electrophoretic deposition of MoS2 nanosheets on a substrate for the preparation of a working electrode for a photoelectrochemical photodetector. The MoS2 nanosheets-based working electrode showed a significant photovoltaic effect, with a maximum photoresponsivity of 170 µA/W and IPCE of 3 x 10(-2)%.

Dual-functional quantum-dots light emitting diodes based on solution processable vanadium oxide hole injection layer

Summary: Dual-functional quantum-dot light emitting diodes (QLEDs) were successfully fabricated using solution processable vanadium oxide (V2O5) hole injection layer, showing selectable photo-detecting and light-emitting behaviors under different operating voltage conditions. By adjusting the concentration of V2O5 solution, the interfacial electronic structure of the device was modified to enable the dual-functional properties. This study suggests the potential use of QLEDs as both photosensors and light-emitting diodes in the future display industry.

High quality VO2 thin films synthesized from V2O5 powder for sensitive near-infrared detection

Summary: The vapor transport method was used to synthesize high quality VO2 thin films on SiO2/Si substrate, exhibiting good near-infrared response and high stability. SEM and Raman spectroscopy were utilized to investigate the morphological and structural evolutions of intermediate phases during nucleation and growth processes, revealing a mechanism dominated by melting-evaporation-nucleation-growth.

Ni-doped VOOH as an efficient electrocatalyst for urea oxidation
