Using our newest VLT-KMOS HII galaxies and other cosmic tracers to tes the Lambda cold dark matter tension

Ahmad Mehrabi et al.

Summary: By jointly analyzing the VLT-KMOS HII galaxies with SNIa data, novel constraints on cosmokinetic parameters were placed to reconstruct the Hubble diagram to higher redshifts. The results show that while the parameters derived from SNIa data align with the predictions of Lambda CDM model, significant deviations in the evolution of cosmokinetic parameters are observed when combining with HIIG data.

Model-independent constraints on Ωm and H(z) from the link between geometry and growth

Jaime Ruiz-Zapatero et al.

Summary: In this study, the expansion history of the universe and the cosmological matter density were constrained in a model-independent way, showing compatibility with the Planck 2018 prediction and achieving an average precision of 9.4% for the Gaussian process on H(z). The value of Omega(m) was found to be 0.224 +/- 0.066, slightly lower but statistically consistent with the Planck 2018 cosmology. The combination of future DESI measurements with the methodology developed in this work holds promise for further constraints on the expansion history and Omega(m).

Toward a Better Understanding of Cosmic Chronometers: A New Measurement of H(z) at z ∼ 0.7

Nicola Borghi et al.

Summary: This study analyzes the stellar ages of 140 massive and passive galaxies and provides a new direct measurement of H(z) using the cosmic chronometer approach. The study also proposes a simple framework to describe the age-redshift relations and derives constraints on H(0) and typical galaxy formation time. This new H(z) measurement paves the road for future joint study of individual passive galaxies and the expansion history of the universe.

Revisiting a non-parametric reconstruction of the deceleration parameter from combined background and the growth rate data

Purba Mukherjee et al.

Summary: The cosmic deceleration parameter q has been reconstructed using non-parametric methods and various observational datasets. The transition from a past decelerated phase to a late-time accelerated phase occurs within the redshift range 0.5 < z < 1. The evolution of q is found to be non-monotonic and oscillatory when considering different H-0 measurements and introducing Baryon Acoustic Oscillation (BAO) data.

Cosmographic Parameters in Model-independent Approaches

Ahmad Mehrabi et al.

Summary: The study found that the results of the cosmographic approach are not precise enough compared to other methods, especially showing significant biases at higher redshifts. Due to providing biased results, the cosmographic approach is not the best method for reconstructing cosmographic functions.

Mapping the Universe Expansion: Enabling Percent-level Measurements of the Hubble Constant with a Single Binary Neutron-star Merger Detection

Juan Calderon Bustillo et al.

Summary: The joint observation of gravitational-wave and electromagnetic signal from the binary neutron star merger GW170817 provided a new independent measurement of the Hubble constant, although with some uncertainty. Future observations of similar sources with a network of detectors could improve the precision of the measurements, but are currently hindered by degeneracies in the gravitational-wave signal.

Searching for Signals of Inhomogeneity Using Multiple Probes of the Cosmic Expansion Rate H(z)

S. M. Koksbang

Summary: Cosmic chronometers can estimate the spatially averaged expansion rate, while measurements of the expansion rate based on redshift drift generally do not. If there is a discrepancy between the two measurements, it may indicate the presence of significant cosmic backreaction.

Eppur e piatto? The Cosmic Chronometers Take on Spatial Curvature and Cosmic Concordance

Sunny Vagnozzi et al.

Summary: Recent studies have discussed the question of whether the universe is spatially closed by combining Planck data with external data sets, ultimately concluding that the universe is spatially flat. By utilizing cosmic chronometers data to break the geometrical degeneracy, the study provides a stable estimate of the spatial curvature of the universe.
