KDM6B is an androgen regulated gene and plays oncogenic roles by demethylating H3K27me3 at cyclin D1 promoter in prostate cancer

Zhi Cao et al.

Summary: The study revealed that KDM6B is overexpressed in prostate cancer, with elevated expression associated with high Gleason Score, low serum PSA level, and shorter recurrence-free survival. KDM6B promotes proliferation, migration, invasion, and cell cycle progression, while suppressing apoptosis in prostate cancer cells. The KDM6B inhibitor GSK-J4 can effectively suppress the biological functions of KDM6B in prostate cancer cells.

miR-193a-5p as a promising therapeutic candidate in colorectal cancer by reducing 5-FU and Oxaliplatin chemoresistance by targeting CXCR4

Mohammad Reza Mohammad Hoseini Azar et al.

Summary: In this study, significantly downregulated miR-193a-5p and upregulated CXCR4 were observed in tumor tissues from CRC patients. Upregulation of miR-193a-5p reduced CXCR4 expression levels, particularly in combination with 5-FU and Ox. The findings suggest that miR-193a-5p may serve as a tumor-suppressive factor by targeting CXCR4 and could have potential implications in enhancing chemosensitivity in CRC.

CXCR4 is a prognostic marker that inhibits the invasion and migration of gastric cancer by regulating VEGF expression

Gaoyang Chen et al.

Summary: This study found that CXCR4 and VEGF play important roles in predicting the prognosis of patients with gastric cancer, affecting survival rates by regulating cell invasive and migratory abilities. Additionally, their high expression is associated with poorer overall survival and are independent negative biomarkers.

Histone demethylase KDM6B inhibits breast cancer metastasis by regulating Wnt/β-catenin signaling

Jing Xun et al.

Summary: The study reveals the significant down-regulation of KDM6B in human breast cancer tissues, which is associated with poor prognosis. Overexpression of KDM6B inhibits cell proliferation, invasion, migration, and epithelial-mesenchymal transition of breast cancer cells, as well as tumor growth and lung metastasis. The findings suggest a potential role of the KDM6B-Wnt/beta-catenin axis in breast cancer progression.

Macrophage Polarization Modulated by Porcine Circovirus Type 2 Facilitates Bacterial Coinfection

Wen Zhang et al.

Summary: PCV2 infection skews macrophages towards M1 status by reprogramming the expression of M1 and M2 associated genes. This skewing is regulated by activation of NF-κB and JNK signaling pathways for M1-associated genes and suppression of M2-associated genes through inhibition of JMJD3 expression. This modulation by PCV2 contributes to bacterial coinfection and viral pathogenesis.

Identification and Validation of the Immune Regulator CXCR4 as a Novel Promising Target for Gastric Cancer

Shuai Xue et al.

Summary: This study established a prognostic model of gastric cancer based on the expression profile of immunoregulatory factor-related genes using TCGA database. CXCR4 was identified as an independent prognostic indicator for gastric cancer patients, involved in the progression of gastric cancer and associated with poor survival. Functional studies demonstrated that CXCR4 promoted the proliferation, migration, and invasion of gastric cancer cells.

KDM6B-mediated histone demethylation of LDHA promotes lung metastasis of osteosarcoma

Yuhang Jiang et al.

Summary: The study identified KDM6B as significantly upregulated in osteosarcoma patients, and high expression was associated with poor prognosis. Targeting KDM6B inhibited cell metastasis and further investigations revealed KDM6B promotes osteosarcoma metastasis by modulating LDHA expression.
