Flexural and Dynamic Mechanical Properties of Alkali-Treated Coir/Pineapple Leaf Fibres Reinforced Polylactic Acid Hybrid Biocomposites

Ramengmawii Siakeng et al.

Summary: This study investigates the effects of incorporating untreated and alkali-treated Coir Fibres (CF) and pineapple leaf fibres (PALF) into PLA biocomposites on flexural, morphological, and dynamic mechanical properties. The results show that the treated C1P1 hybrid composites (C1P1A) exhibited the highest flexural strength and modulus, with good fibre-matrix adhesion observed in untreated and treated biocomposites. Dynamic mechanical analysis revealed that C1P1A had the highest glass transition temperature and storage modulus, making it a promising material for various lightweight industrial applications.

Mechanical and thermal properties of date palm/kenaf fiber-reinforced epoxy hybrid composites

Syed Waheedullah Ghori et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the thermal and mechanical properties of epoxy hybrid composites reinforced with date palm fiber and kenaf fiber at various fiber loadings. The results showed that kenaf fiber had a positive impact on date palm fiber, improving both the mechanical and thermal properties with potential applications in the building industry and automobiles. The study also suggests further research on comparing treated hybrid composites with untreated ones.
