Socio-economic determinants of child mortality in Pakistan and the moderating role of household's wealth index

Muhammad Farhan Asif et al.

Summary: This study investigated the socio-economic determinants of child mortality in Pakistan, finding that factors such as women's education, household wealth status, access to clean drinking water, and access to toilet facilities are negatively associated with child mortality, while unmet need for family planning is positively associated. Additionally, the study identified the moderating role of household wealth status on the association between women's education and child mortality, with the effect of a mother's education on child mortality becoming more pronounced with an increase in household wealth status.

Metabolism of Neonatal Vitamin A Supplementation: A Systematic Review

Bryan M. Gannon et al.

Summary: A systematic review was conducted to study the absorption, transport, storage, and metabolism of oral neonatal vitamin A supplementation. The review showed that high-dose NVAS is well absorbed by neonates and primarily stored in the liver, with transient increases in other organs. However, there is minimal data supporting NVAS for improving organ maturation or sustained delivery to target organs.
