Preliminary Evaluation of Protective Efficacy of Inactivated Senecavirus A on Pigs

Yuwan Li et al.

Summary: The study conducted phylogenetic analysis on the GD-ZYY02-2018 strain, which belonged to the USA-like strains and had a close genetic relationship with recent Chinese SVA strains. Animal challenge experiments revealed that 100-day-old pigs inoculated with the SVA GD-ZYY02-2018 strain developed vesicular lesions, low fever, viremia, and virus shedding in feces. Immunization challenge experiments demonstrated that pigs vaccinated with the inactivated GD-ZYY02-2018 strain produced high levels of anti-SVA neutralizing antibodies and showed no vesicular lesions, fever, viremia, or viral shedding in feces after challenge, indicating the protective efficacy of the vaccine against homologous virus challenge.

A virulent and pathogenic infectious clone of Senecavirus A

Maureen H. Fernandes et al.

Summary: A reverse genetics system for SVA was developed based on a well-characterized wild-type strain, showing that the generated infectious clone is fully virulent and pathogenic in pigs, with comparable pathogenesis and infection dynamics to the wild-type strain.

The Insufficient Activation of RIG-I-Like Signaling Pathway Contributes to Highly Efficient Replication of Porcine Picornaviruses in IBRS-2 Cells

Xiangle Zhang et al.

Summary: By comparing the expression features of IBRS-2 and PK-15 cells in response to SVV infection, differences in innate immune response were identified, with aberrant signal transduction found to be the underlying cause of distinct immune response and viral replication rates between the two cell lines.
