An investigation of surface contamination introduced during He plus implantation and subsequent effects on the thermal oxidation of Cu

Subing Yang et al.

Summary: Ion implantation can increase the oxidation resistance of copper, but can also introduce carbonaceous contamination that has a passivation effect on Cu oxidation. This is believed to be due to the implantation of C into the Cu along with He+ implantation, forming a protective layer that blocks the contact of Cu substrate and ambient air.

WO3-based photocatalysts: A review on synthesis, performance enhancement and photocatalytic memory for environmental applications

Ojo Samuel et al.

Summary: Traditional photocatalysts like titanium dioxide have the limitation of not being able to absorb visible light, making it necessary to find new photocatalysts that can overcome this issue. Tungsten oxide and its composites have gained popularity in recent years due to their smaller band gap energy, but pristine tungsten oxide has limitations in energy density and specific surface area. Developing various materials based on tungsten oxide can improve its performance.

Tailored copper oxidation in alkaline aqueous solution after helium cation implantation

Subing Yang et al.

Summary: This study investigated the influence of He+ implantation on the oxidation behavior of copper. The results showed that He+ implantation accelerated the formation of copper oxide and homogenized its distribution on the copper substrate. These findings provide important insights into the oxidation and corrosion behavior of copper in alkaline conditions, as well as the design and growth of copper oxide nanostructures by ion implantation.
