Bridge between mass transfer behavior and properties of bubbles under two-stage ultrasound-assisted physisorption of polyphenols using macroporous resin

Yang Tao et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates that both ultrasound pretreatment and ultrasonication during adsorption promote the physisorption of polyphenols. The mass transfer mechanism of adsorption under mild sonication differs from that of adoption with intensive ultrasound pretreatment. The properties of bubbles under sonication environments and their relationship with adsorption capacity were also explored.

Endosomal Escape of Bioactives Deployed via Nanocarriers: Insights Into the Design of Polymeric Micelles

Adeel Masood Butt et al.

Summary: The cytoplasmic delivery of bioactives using nanocarriers is essential for achieving targeted effects. However, a major challenge is the sequestration of nanocarriers in endosomes, leading to drug degradation. This review discusses the mechanisms of nanocarrier endocytosis, endosomal escape, and strategies for efficient cytoplasmic delivery. The design of polymeric micelles for endosomal escape is discussed, highlighting the need for careful control to balance toxicity and efficiency.

A photoresponsive antibody-siRNA conjugate for activatable immunogene therapy of cancer

Xingxing Wang et al.

Summary: This study presents a photoresponsive antibody-siRNA conjugate (PARC) for tumor-specific and photoinducible siRNA delivery and activatable cancer immunogene therapy. PARC targets cancer cells through the interaction between the antibody and membrane antigen, and releases siRNA upon light irradiation. The released siRNA degrades intracellular mRNA and blocks the membrane antigen to enhance immune cell activity. PARC shows effective cancer suppression in vitro and in vivo.
