An adaptive fuzzy sliding-mode control for regenerative braking system of electric vehicles

Peng Mei et al.

Summary: This article proposes a novel fuzzy sliding-mode control scheme for energy management in electric vehicles. The effectiveness of the control lies in adjusting the sliding mode parameters to achieve the optimal slip ratio. The control method integrates the best battery condition and energy recovery efficiency and is validated in a simulation environment.

Summary: This paper investigates the design of asynchronous state observer for H-infinity analysis of Markov jump systems with partial mode information using sliding mode control approach. A novel distributed dynamic event-triggered scheme is proposed to enhance the reliability and efficiency of communication network. The research shows that the proposed control scheme can effectively achieve system stability and disturbance attenuation.

Adaptive neural network control of an uncertain 2-DOF helicopter system with input backlash and output constraints

Zhijia Zhao et al.

Summary: This study proposes an adaptive neural control for a two degrees of freedom helicopter nonlinear system, which takes into account system uncertainties, input backlash, and output constraints. A neural network is used to handle the hybrid effects of input backlash nonlinearities and system uncertainties, followed by the introduction of a barrier Lyapunov function to limit the output signals for safe operation. The closed-loop system's bounded stability is analyzed using the direct Lyapunov approach. Simulation and experiment results demonstrate the effectiveness and efficacy of the derived control.

Effects of application height and crosswind on the crop spraying performance of unmanned helicopters

Qing Tang et al.

Summary: Unmanned helicopters are increasingly used for crop protection in Asia, with the moving mechanism of droplets from helicopters not clearly understood. This study simulated the flow field and movement of droplets using the lattice Boltzmann method, revealing asymmetric vortex structures and downwash flow velocity fields. Droplet size and application height were found to affect the movement and deposition of droplets in downwash flow, with implications for reducing spray drift and optimizing the performance of unmanned aerial vehicles for plant protection.

Summary: This paper presents an experimental investigation on the effectiveness of an innovative hybrid control approach utilizing an intelligent active force control (IAFC) strategy to stabilize a twin-rotor helicopter model and improve its disturbance rejection capability. The IAFC-based control design was rigorously tested and showed a 27% improvement in system performance in terms of lowering the root mean square error (RMSE) compared to other control schemes.
