Photocatalytic Degradation of Single and Binary Mixture of Brilliant Green and Rhodamine B Dyes by Zinc Sulfide Quantum Dots

Peter A. Ajibade et al.

Summary: In this study, octadecylamine-capped ZnS quantum dots were prepared from bis(morpholinyldithiocarbamato)Zn(II) complex via thermal decomposition, with a focus on the impact of reaction time on morphological and photocatalytic properties. ZnS-3 exhibited the highest photocatalytic degradation efficiency with low photoluminescence intensity. Additionally, pH 8 was found to be optimal for the degradation of brilliant green, while pH 6.5 was best for the degradation of rhodamine B.
