Highly Sensitive Determination of Tenofovir in Pharmaceutical Formulations and Patients Urine-Comparative Electroanalytical Studies Using Different Sensing Methods

Natalia Festinger et al.

Summary: This paper discusses the electrochemical behavior of the antiviral drug Tenofovir (TFV) and its application in electroanalytical determination using square-wave voltammetry. The results show that TFV exhibits good electroactivity and catalytic properties on a graphene oxide-modified electrode. By optimizing the square-wave excitation parameters, accurate determination of TFV is achieved. The findings are of significance for TFV detection in pharmaceutical formulations and patient urine samples.

A zinc oxide nanorods/molybdenum disulfide nanosheets hybrid as a sensitive and reusable electrochemical sensor for determination of anti-retroviral agent indinavir

Mohammad Mehmandoust et al.

Summary: This work aims to develop an electrochemical sensor for the reusable and selective detection of trace levels of indinavir (IDV) as an anti-retroviral drug by using zinc oxide nano-rods/molybdenum disulfide nanosheets on a screen-printed electrode (ZnO NRs/MoS2 NSs/SPE). The developed sensor exhibited high sensitivity, stability, and specificity toward IDV, with a wide dynamic range and low limit of detection. The synergistic effect between MoS2 NSs and ZnO NRs contributed to the improved sensing performance of the hybrid electrochemical sensor. The reported sensor provides a new alternative for electrochemical detection of IDV.

Voltammetric sensor based on bimetallic nanocomposite for determination of favipiravir as an antiviral drug

Mohammad Mehmandoust et al.

Summary: A novel and sensitive voltammetric nanosensor using gold/silver core-shell nanoparticles was developed for trace level monitoring of favipiravir. The sensor showed linear quantitative ranges, low detection limits, negligible interference from other substances, and demonstrated outstanding reproducibility, stability, and reusability. This assay strategy has promising applications in diagnosing FAV in clinical samples due to the large surface area and high conductivity of the bimetallic nanocomposite.
