Efficacy of low dose rectal diclofenac for preventing post-endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography pancreatitis: Propensity score-matched analysis

Takeshi Tomoda et al.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the efficacy of low dose rectal NSAIDs in preventing post-ERCP pancreatitis, and the results showed that prophylactic administration of a 25 mg dose of rectal diclofenac did not reduce the incidence of PEP. It is suggested that regardless of body weight, certain doses of rectal NSAIDs should be administered to prevent PEP.

The milestone for preventing post-ERCP pancreatitis using novel simplified predictive scoring system: a propensity score analysis

Masafumi Chiba et al.

Summary: The study established and validated a simplified predictive scoring system for PEP using five risk factors immediately after ERCP to assist with the early identification of PEP. The system, consisting of four stratifications, showed high accuracy in predicting PEP incidence rates and had stable internal validation.
