Robust Homography Estimation from Local Affine Maps

Mariano Rodriguez et al.

Summary: The classic image matching approaches determine local zero-order approximations of the global mapping between two images based on corresponding point coordinates. However, the patches around keypoints contain more information, which can be used to obtain a first-order approximation of the mapping by incorporating local affine maps. This paper presents modifications of the RANSAC algorithm that utilize affine approximations and a-contrario procedures to improve homography estimation between image pairs.

Homography estimation from a single-point correspondence using template matching and particle swarm optimization

Victor H. Diaz-Ramirez et al.

Summary: Existing feature-based methods for homography estimation require multiple point correspondences and are sensitive to outliers. This work presents an iterative method that only requires a single-point correspondence and utilizes particle swarm optimization to improve the estimation accuracy.

An Effective Color Correction Method for Underwater Image

Ye Tao et al.

Summary: Due to light scattering and absorption in underwater medium, underwater images often suffer from contrast degradation, detail loss, and color distortion. This paper presents an effective color correction method for underwater images, which includes selecting dominant and degraded channels, locally compensating the degraded channels with a parameter adaptive-adjusted algorithm, and performing gray-world assumption and histogram equalization to obtain the final result. Experimental results demonstrate the superior performance of the proposed method in both subjective and objective evaluations.

Global Color Consistency Correction for Large-Scale Images in 3-D Reconstruction

Yunmeng Li et al.

Summary: This article proposes a novel color correction method to effectively eliminate color differences between large-scale multiview images. The method utilizes graph partition algorithm to group images and performs intragroup and intergroup correction to achieve overall color consistency. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method outperforms existing methods and exhibits better color consistency in extreme cases.

MULTI-VIEW IMAGE COLOR CORRECTION USING 3D POINT SET REGISTRATION

Hyeonwoo Jeong et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a novel color correction method for multi-view images, which deforms the color distribution of the image non-rigidly into that of the reference image using a 3D point set registration algorithm. To reduce computational complexity, representative color points are extracted for 3D registration. Extensive experiments show that the proposed method successfully enhances color consistency and improves computational efficiency with representative color point set approximation.
