Novel Ni-Ge-P anodes for lithium-ion batteries with enhanced reversibility and reduced redox potential

Electrospun Na4Fe3(PO4)2(P2O7) nanofibers as free-standing cathodes for ultralong-life and high-rate sodium-ion batteries

Summary: Hierarchical carbon decorated Na4Fe3(PO4)(2)(P2O7) nanofibers were successfully designed and fabricated using electrospinning and subsequent pyrolysis. The resulting Na4Fe3(PO4)(2)(P2O7) /C electrode showed excellent mechanical flexibility, high electronic conductivity, ultrafast Na+ migration, and high reversible capacity, cycling stability, and rate performance in sodium-ion batteries. The full cell assembled with Na4Fe3(PO4)(2)(P2O7)/C cathode and hard carbon anode exhibited high reversible capacity and working voltage, indicating the potential for practical applications of high-rate flexible energy storage devices.

Through various characterisation, it was demonstrated that the performance of NVPF was effectively enhanced, with an initial reversible capacity of 127.8 mA h g-1 and a cycling retention rate of 82.8% after 100 cycles.

Rational electrolyte design with organic solvent additives could lead to the development of better aqueous batteries.
