Structure and surface insight into a temperature-sensitive CaO-based CO2 sorbent

Yongqing Xu et al.

Summary: The study prepared NaCl-modified CaO-based sorbents through simultaneous hydration and impregnation, and investigated their cyclic CO2 capture capacity. The results showed that NaCl could tailor the temperature sensitivity of the sorbents and enhance their carbonation activity, particularly at higher temperatures.

Improved quasi-cycle capacity method based on microcalorimetry strategy for the fast screening of amino acid salt absorbents for CO2 capture

Ge Gao et al.

Summary: In this study, the CO2 absorption heat and sensible heat of six amino acid salt absorbents and their solutions were directly measured using high-precision microcalorimetry. The reaction rates were evaluated using a parameter called CO2 quasi-cycle capacity. Based on the results, PS was identified as a promising absorbent with low CO2 absorption heat and sensible heat.

Carbon dioxide capture using liquid absorption methods: a review

Friday O. Ochedi et al.

Summary: Anthropogenic emissions of greenhouse gases lead to global warming, ocean acidification, polar ice melting, sea level rise, droughts, and hurricanes, threatening human health and the global economy. To combat this, cost-effective technologies for CO(2) capture are necessary. Current research focuses on developing more economical, effective, green, and sustainable technologies for CO(2) capture. Various methods based on solutions, solvents, and processes have been explored to enhance CO(2) absorption performance, with a particular interest in incorporating membrane and microencapsulation technologies to improve absorption selectivity.

Glycine tailored effective CaO-based heat carriers for thermochemical energy storage in concentrated solar power plants

Yongqing Xu et al.

Summary: Organic acid-modified CaO-based heat carriers show promising thermochemical energy storage performance in a closed-loop CaLP-TCES system, with glycine-modified eggshell exhibiting the highest energy storage capacity after repeated cycles at high temperatures. The rich mesoporous and macroporous structure generated in the materials after glycine modification significantly improves cyclic thermochemical energy storage performance.
