Fabrication of a new fluorogenic probe for detection of phosgene in solution and vapor phase

Lakshman Patra et al.

Summary: The fluorogenic probe COUBM is designed for rapid detection of phosgene in both solution and gas phase. It reacts with phosgene to form a carbamylated product, resulting in a sharp increase in fluorescence intensity. The probe can efficiently detect phosgene in vapor phase using a COUBM loaded filter paper kit, and theoretical calculations are performed to interpret the electronic structure and sensing mechanism.

Small molecular fluorescent probes for the detection of lead, cadmium and mercury ions

Shan-Yong Chen et al.

Summary: Heavy-metal pollution, especially Hg2+, Pb2+, and Cd2+, has become a serious global issue, threatening human health even at low concentrations. Developing rapid, accurate, and cost-effective detection methods is crucial in reducing exposure to these metals. Efforts have been focused on designing and synthesizing fluorescent probes for selective detection of Hg2+, Pb2+, and Cd2+.

Rational design of far red to near-infrared rhodamine analogues with huge Stokes shifts for single-laser excitation multicolor imaging

Xingxing Zhang et al.

Summary: This study successfully enhanced the Stokes shift of rhodamine dyes by breaking their electronic symmetry, creating a novel rhodamine dye with a Stokes shift of up to 205 nm. By combining this dye with other probes, single-excitation trichromatic imaging of cells was achieved, demonstrating its potential for bioimaging.
