Bioinspired three-dimensional hierarchical micro/nano-structured microdevice for enhanced capture and effective release of circulating tumor cells

Le Wang et al.

Summary: A bio-inspired 3D epithelial cell adhesion molecule (EpCAM) aptamer modified rose petal derived ZnO microchip was designed to efficiently capture and release circulating tumor cells (CTCs). The 3D rough spherical concave surfaces on the chip guaranteed maximum contact with the CTCs, thus improving capture efficiency. Simple release of CTCs was achieved by dissolving ZnO under moderate acidic conditions. The proposed chip has the potential to be a promising tool for CTC capture and release in clinical trials.

Magnetic Colloid Antibodies Accelerate Small Extracellular Vesicles Isolation for Point-of-Care Diagnostics

Jingjing Yang et al.

Summary: This study developed artificial magnetic colloid antibodies using surface imprinting technology for rapid, purification-free, and low-cost isolation of sEVs; The MCAs showed a capture yield more than 3-fold higher in 20 minutes compared to the traditional ultracentrifugation method in 4 hours, with proposed reusability due to the high stability of the organosilica recognition layer; Combining with volumetric bar-chart chip technology, a sensitive, rapid, and easy-to-use platform for sEV detection at point-of-care diagnostics was provided.

An artificial enzyme cascade amplification strategy for highly sensitive and specific detection of breast cancer-derived exosomes

Huiying Xu et al.

Summary: The study presents an artificial enzyme cascade amplification strategy based on a switchable DNA tetrahedral (SDT) scaffold for quantifying breast cancer-derived exosomes with high sensitivity. This strategy enables the high-efficiency enzyme cascade catalytic reactions on the SDT for MCF-7 exosome analysis.
