Highly responsive and selective ppb-level NO2 gas sensor based on porous Pd-functionalized CuO/rGO at room temperature

Summary: Pd-CuO/rGO sensor with a nanowire hierarchical structure was successfully synthesized using a hydrothermal strategy. The sensor showed excellent features compared to other sensors for detecting NO2 gas at room temperature, with an ultra-high response of 64.2 towards 100 ppm NO2 gas and a response/recovery time of 10.7/9.2 s towards 10 ppm NO2 gas. The sensor also had a low limit of detection of 50 ppb.

Humidity-activated H2S sensor based on SnSe2/WO3 composite for evaluating the spoilage of eggs at room temperature

Summary: Designing gas sensors sensitive to H2S for food spoilage evaluation is significant for automated quality control in the food industry. Traditional gas sensors are affected by humidity, so it is critical to develop H2S sensors based on novel materials that can operate effectively in humid conditions. In this study, tin diselenide nanosheets decorated with tungsten trioxide nanoparticles are used as sensing layers for H2S gas sensors. The composite sensor exhibits enhanced H2S response at high humidity levels and proves effective for evaluating spoilage of eggs.

G-C3N4/In2O3 composite for effective formaldehyde detection

Summary: This paper reports a new type of high-performance formaldehyde gas sensor using g-C3N4 nanosheets to modify the surface of In2O3 nanospheres as the sensing material. Construction of SnO2 nanoneural network by ultrasmall particles for highly selective NO2 detection at low temperature

A room-temperature and ppb-level NO2 sensor based on n-CdS/p-CuO heterojunction modified with rGO nanosheets

Layered mesoporous SnO2 for effective ethanol detection at reduced working temperature

Summary: In this study, a layered mesoporous aggregate of tin oxide nanocrystals with high specific surface area and mesoporous structure was synthesized. Rapid response hydrogen sensor based on Pd@Pt/SnO2 hybrids at near-ambient temperature

MoO3/TiO2/Ti3C2Tx nanocomposite based gas sensors for highly sensitive and selective isopropanol detection at room temperature

Selective H2S gas sensors based on ohmic hetero-interface of Au-functionalized WO3 nanowires

Summary: In this study, sensors based on WO3 nanowires sensing films were fabricated by thermal oxidation method on alumina substrates and functionalized with gold nanoparticles by RF magnetron sputtering. An optimal sputtering time of 10 seconds led to significantly enhanced sensing performances towards H2S, with a detection limit of 0.17 ppb for 5 ppm at 350 degrees C and 50% relative humidity.

Sensing mechanism of Ag/α-MoO3 nanobelts for H2S gas sensor

In this study, Ag was loaded into alpha-MoO3 nanobelts to improve the material's selectivity to hydrogen sulfide, resulting in enhanced gas sensing properties. The 5 wt% Ag/alpha-MoO3 sensor showed a response of 225 to 100 x 10(-6) hydrogen sulfide with a detection limit of 100 x 10(-9), showcasing the effectiveness of the sensing mechanism.

MoO3 structures transition from nanoflowers to nanorods and their sensing performances

Facile synthesis of mesoporous CdS/PbS/SnO2 composites for high-selectivity H2 gas sensor

Summary: Novel mesoporous heterostructures composed of CdS, PbS, and SnO2 were synthesized via a green and facile treatment, showing enhanced gas-sensing properties for H-2 gas detection. The CdS/PbS/SnO2 sensor exhibited fast response/recovery time, ultralow detection limit, outstanding selectivity, reliable reversibility, and long-term stability, mainly attributed to its large surface-to-volume ratio and numerous heterojunctions for accelerated carrier transfer.
