A highly stable temperature sensor based on Au/Cu/n-Si Schottky barrier diodes dependent on the inner metal thickness

Hasan Efeoglu et al.

Summary: In this study, Schottky barrier diodes with different metal compositions were fabricated and their thermal sensitivity was measured through V-T characteristics. The results indicate that SBDs with a copper Schottky contact have approximately the same thermal sensitivity coefficient at different current levels.

Effect of Temperature of Long Annealing on the Structure and Magnetic Properties of Nanocrystalline FeSiNbCuB Alloy

N. Ershov et al.

Summary: The relationship between the soft magnetic properties of Fe73.5Si13.5Nb3Cu1B9 alloy and the air annealing temperature has been studied. It was found that the magnetic properties degrade with increasing annealing temperature, mainly due to a decrease in silicon concentration in nanocrystals and an increase in magnetocrystalline anisotropy.

Magnetoimpedance of CoFeCrSiB Ribbon-Based Sensitive Element with FeNi Covering: Experiment and Modeling

Stanislav O. Volchkov et al.

Summary: Soft magnetic materials, particularly Co-based amorphous ribbons, are in high demand for electronic and biomedical applications due to their high magnetoimpedance effect, sensitivity to magnetic fields, corrosion stability, and affordability. By depositing additional magnetic and non-ferromagnetic layers on these ribbons, their functional properties can be modified for various purposes such as magnetic biosensors for self-assembling processes in biological experiments. This study focused on investigating the magnetic properties and magnetoimpedance effect of Co-based amorphous ribbons and composites, providing insights for the development of MI sensors, including biosensors for magnetic label detection.

Prediction of density in amorphous and nanocrystalline soft magnetic alloys: A data mining approach

R. Parsons et al.

Summary: This study reviewed literature to determine the density of amorphous soft magnetic alloys and found it can be accurately described by a regression function. The change in density during amorphization and subsequent nanocrystallization was estimated to be between 0.5% and 3%, depending on the alloy composition. The difference in density between a crystalline precursor ingot and after amorphization by melt spinning was observed to vary between 2% and 3%.

Colossal anomalous Nernst effect in a correlated noncentrosymmetric kagome ferromagnet

T. Asaba et al.

Summary: In UCo0.8Ru0.2Al, a colossal anomalous Nernst effect (ANE) is observed due to strong electronic correlations from uranium's 5f electrons and narrow bands, leading to a large thermoelectric response. Additionally, uranium's strong spin-orbit coupling results in an intrinsic transverse response in this material related to the Berry curvature associated with the relativistic electronic structure.

Spintronic hydrogen evolution induced by surface plasmon of silver nanoparticles loaded on Fe- and Co-doped ZnO nanorods

Po-Yen Kung et al.

Summary: This study presents a SPEC hydrogen evolution device using spintronic technology, which successfully enhances the hydrogen production efficiency through spintronic surface plasmon resonance energy transfer. However, it also highlights the potential drawbacks of spintronics, such as impeding hot electron transfer and generating quantum entanglement, when attempting to increase the efficiency of hydrogen production.
