Ultrahigh electric-field-induced strain in KNN-based piezoelectric ceramics sintered in reducing atmosphere

Zhihao Dong et al.

Summary: This study successfully sintered KNNT-SZT ceramics in a reducing atmosphere and achieved samples with excellent inverse piezoelectric properties. The diffusion of the ferroelectric phase transition in KNNT-SZT ceramics was enhanced through SZT dopant and locally inhomogeneous microstructure. These ceramics exhibited high inverse piezoelectric coefficients and good temperature stability.

Defect-mediated domain-wall motion and enhanced electric-field-induced strain in hot-pressed K0.5Na0.5NbO3 lead-free piezoelectric ceramics

Yi-Xuan Liu et al.

Summary: The study focuses on the influence of intrinsic defects on the strain performance of pure KNN ceramics, and found that hot-pressing at 1000 degrees Celsius can enhance the normalized strain performance. Additionally, intrinsic defects may play a role in affecting the performance of KNN-based piezoceramics.

Defect-induced superior piezoelectric response in perovskite KNbO3

Jie Yin et al.

Summary: In this work, the CuO-modified KNbO3 exhibited superior piezoelectric responses under different external field conditions. The discrepancies of characteristic frequency for defect dipoles transformation and ferroelectric domains switching were found to affect the electro-strain behaviors. The research provides insights into designing high-performance KNbO3-based perovskite ferroelectrics by exploring the potential of dynamic defect dipoles.

Guangzhi Dong et al.

Summary: The study fabricated a novel solid solution ceramic with relaxor ferroelectric features using high temperature solid-state reaction method. The ergodic composition showed large repeatable electrostrain value and high piezoelectric stain coefficient, while the non-ergodic compositions exhibited unrepeatable large strain response. The research aims to guide the design of lead free relaxor ferroelectric materials with desired electrostrain properties.
