Influence of β-AgVO3 nanomaterial incorporation on mechanical and microbiological properties of dental porcelain

Livia Maiumi Uehara et al.

Summary: This study explored the effect of adding nanostructured silver vanadate decorated with silver nanoparticles (beta-AgVO3) to dental porcelains. It was found that the modified material exhibited antimicrobial activity at certain concentrations, but also had an influence on the mechanical properties.

Hydrophobicity of Denture Base Resins: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis

Mohammed M. Gad et al.

Summary: This article reviews the factors that attract Candida albicans to denture base resin (DBR) and explores the influence of different surface treatments, chemical modification, or structural reinforcements on the properties of DBR. The study finds that DBR coatings/plasma coatings and the incorporation of antifungal particles into poly(methylmethacrylate) DBR are effective methods in modifying surface properties.
