Innovative modification of the surface of screen-printed carbon electrodes by nanofilms directly deposited in cold acrylonitrile plasma

Maria Madej et al.

Summary: This work demonstrates a pioneering application of plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD) in the direct modification of commercially available screen-printed carbon electrodes (SPCEs) with polymerized acrylonitrile (pp-AN) nanofilms. The study investigates the effect of different plasma power levels and deposition times on the films' characteristics and the electrochemical properties of the sensors. A pp-AN film deposited at a power of 10 W with a thickness of approximately 60 nm exhibited the highest sensitivity and favorable electrochemical properties.

Impact of plasma-induced surface chemistry on electrochemical properties of microfabricated pyrolytic carbon electrodes

Galina Pankratova et al.

Summary: In this study, the impact of plasma-induced chemical surface alterations on the performance of pyrolytic carbon electrodes was investigated. It was found that the surface chemistry and geometry of the carbon electrodes varied with different plasma gases, leading to differences in electrochemical performance. This research provides fundamental insights into the electrochemistry of plasma-modified pyrolytic carbon surfaces and offers strategies for enhancing surface properties in carbon-based electrochemical applications.

Effect of magnetic field on optical emission from cold atmospheric pressure micro-plasma jet

Kalyani Barman et al.

Summary: The use of magnetic field impacts the dynamics of charged particles, plasma constituents, and optical emissions in a cold atmospheric pressure micro-plasma jet. Experiments show that externally applied transverse magnetic field affects optical emissions and particle behavior inside the plasma. The presence of reactive species important for biomedical applications is identified, and their behavior under the influence of magnetic field is investigated.
