Nanopotassium, Nanosilicon, and Biochar Applications Improve Potato Salt Tolerance by Modulating Photosynthesis, Water Status, and Biochemical Constituents

Abdel Wahab M. Mahmoud et al.

Summary: This study investigates the effects of applying nanoelements (silicon and potassium) and biochar on the physiological and biochemical characteristics of potato plants in saline soil. The results demonstrate that the application of nanoelements and biochar significantly improves the growth performance, nutritional status, and yield of potato plants. The combined treatment shows the best growth and yield parameters, reducing transpiration rate, antioxidant enzyme activity, and abscisic acid content, while enhancing tuber quality. Therefore, the application of nanoelements and biochar is an effective method for improving the growth and crop productivity of potato plants under salinity conditions.

Foliar-applied silicon nanoparticles mitigate cadmium stress through physio-chemical changes to improve growth, antioxidant capacity, and essential oil profile of summer savory (Satureja hortensis L.)

Elnaz Farajzadeh Memari-Tabrizi et al.

Summary: The use of nanofertilizers shows promise in increasing plant productivity and reducing environmental pollution. The study demonstrated that moderate cadmium levels can enhance phenolic, flavonoid, and essential oil content in plants, while high cadmium levels lead to decreased growth and increased stress indicators. The application of 1.5-2.25 mM Si-NPs was effective in improving plant growth and essential oil yield under Cd stress.
