Genome Size Diversity in Rare, Endangered, and Protected Orchids in Poland

Summary: Orchidaceae is one of the largest and most widespread plant families, with genome size estimation by flow cytometry revealing that the investigated orchid species possess intermediate, large, and very large genomes. The study estimated the genome sizes of 15 orchid species and one infraspecific taxon growing wild in Poland, providing additional criterion for orchid species identification and characterization.

In vitro conservation of citrus rootstocks using paclobutrazol and analysis of plant viability and genetic stability

Summary: The study aimed to establish a protocol for in vitro conservation of citrus rootstocks using paclobutrazol to ensure plant viability and genetic stability. Results showed that in vitro conservation did not affect plant viability, and molecular markers were efficient in characterizing the rootstocks. The protocol described in the study can be used for in vitro maintenance of the analyzed rootstocks and potentially other citrus genotypes.
