Two new farnesyl hydroquinones from Pestalotiopsis diploclisia (BCC 35283), the fungus associated with algae

Summary: Two new hydroquinones bearing a 1,3-enyne moiety, pestalotioquinols G and H, along with four known compounds, were isolated from a marine fungus. Their structures were elucidated using 2D-NMR and HR-MS data. One of the known compounds exhibited antimalarial activity, while another compound showed weak cytotoxic activity.

Bioactive sulfonyl metabolites from the Red Sea endophytic fungus Penicillium aculeatum

Summary: Two new sulfonyl metabolites, pensulfonoxy and pensulfonamide, along with four known metabolites were isolated from the endophytic fungus Penicillium aculeatum, showing potent antibacterial and antifungal activities against Escherichia coli and Candida albicans, respectively. Additionally, compound 2 exhibited significant preferential cytotoxicity against MCF-7 cells compared to compound 1 and the drug control, paclitaxel.

Two new N-acetyl-glucosamine derivatives from the medical algae-derived endophytic fungus Penicillium chrysogenum

Summary: Two new N-acetyl--glucosamine derivatives, penichryfurans A and B, were isolated from the fermentation of an endophytic fungus Penicillium chrysogenum found in the marine red alga Grateloupia turuturu. Compound 1 exhibited strong cytotoxicity against HepG2 cell line with an IC50 value of 9.0 mu M.

Deoxytrichodermaerin, a harziane lactone from the marine algicolous fungus Trichoderma longibrachiatum A-WH-20-2

Among them, deoxytrichodermaerin represents the second harziane lactone with an ester linkage at a specific position, while harzianol A is a new natural product of Trichoderma.
